5 Bold Predictions: Minnesota Vikings vs. Green Bay Packers – Week 1
By Chris Schad
Green Bay will squeak out a victory in the opener
There are a lot of reasons to be excited about the Vikings this season, but the Packers are still a great team. With Rodgers returning under center, they’ve put enough around him that he can win even if he has one too many cups of hallucinogenic tea.
The Vikings aren’t as bad of a team as they’ve appeared to be over the past couple of seasons, but they may need a couple of games to get going. With Green Bay and Philadelphia out of the gate, it could mean an 0-2 start for Minnesota, but they could have enough to make a sprint toward the end of the year.
It would still be preferable if they could win this game, but with Rodgers’ experience and questions in the secondary, the Vikings are just a little bit behind until they prove otherwise. That should lead to a season-opening loss and a chance to turn things around against the Eagles.
Prediction: Packers win 27-20
