Patrick Peterson – CB

Patrick Peterson is one of the older veterans on the Vikings roster, and after watching him on a few different plays against the Packers, it is fair to wonder if that age is starting to catch up with him.

On the Packers’ first play from scrimmage, Peterson was torched by rookie wide receiver Christian Watson. The rookie spun the veteran corner around and then flew by him. That play should’ve resulted in a game-changing touchdown for the Packers, but the ball went through the hands of Watson in what was one of the more embarrassing drops in recent memory.

Peterson was later beaten pretty badly by another Green Bay rookie, leading to an easy Packers reception. While he didn’t play his best game, Peterson still showed plenty of swagger and confidence on the field and finished the day with six total tackles.

The Vikings have some young corners that they drafted fairly early who are chomping at the bit to get on the field. If Peterson continues to have the struggles we saw in Week 1, he could be the first starter replaced on this defense.
