Ed Ingram – RG

It is fair to argue that a rookie who is making his first NFL start shouldn’t be on a disappointing players list, but Ed Ingram struggled badly early in this game.

Ingram was one of the more talked about players in Vikings’ camp this summer, and expectations were very high for the rookie. He definitely got a wake-up call early in this one, before shoring things up.

Ingram drew a very difficult matchup playing mostly against Kenny Clark, with some Rashan Gary sprinkled in for good measure.  He was clearly outclassed as the majority of the pressure that came Kirk Cousins’ way during the first half was over the right guard spot.

The Packers definitely were testing the rookie, and it was a test he was not passing. Clark and Gary plowed right over the first-year man on their way to knocking down the Vikings quarterback or at least making him get the ball out much quicker than anticipated.

In Ingram’s defense, he played much better in the second half, holding his own against these two elite players. It was great to see the rookie bounce back the way he did, but there’s no question the first handful of snaps of his career were disappointing.
