Justin Jefferson – WR

It’s hard to keep finding the words to describe how special Justin Jefferson is. The wide receiver was nothing short of phenomenal in Week 1 against the Green Bay Packers, tormenting an outstanding secondary from the first snap and becoming a constant thorn in their side thanks to his unique blend of sharp route-running and elite ball skills.

If Jefferson isn’t the best wideout in the NFL, he’s mighty close. The Minnesota Vikings schemed things up well for the LSU product, getting him in motion far more than we saw over his first two seasons in the league with supreme success.

Jefferson was seemingly wide open on almost every down. This resulted in the former first-round pick bringing in nine receptions from 11 targets for 184 receiving yards and two touchdowns during a monumental performance that put the NFC on notice.

This sort of performance is always within Jefferson’s capabilities. However, with an offensive-minded head coach in Kevin O’Connell, we could be looking at career numbers across the board once again in 2022.

Everything Jefferson touched turned to gold in Week 1. A performance that’s only put additional dollars on his demands when it’s time to head to the bargaining table in the not-too-distant future.

Whatever Jefferson gets on his next contract – and it could be record-breaking – he’ll be worth every last cent.
