Justin Jefferson – WR

The biggest takeaway from this game is Justin Jefferson is in the most optimal position to shine as the single greatest wide receiver in the NFL this season. Simply put, the third-year wide receiver has been unlocked by Kevin O’Connell’s offense.

Jefferson exploded for 184 yards on nine catches in Week 1, two of those for touchdowns, and most of that was just in the first half. While the yards and touchdowns won’t match this performance every week, the frequency of Jefferson’s involvement should remain consistent as he is the centerpiece of the offense.

The chunk plays will continue to pile up the same way they did for the triple crown winner from last year, Cooper Kupp. Vikings coaches have constructed the offense to operate around Jefferson’s ability to create space and dominate defenders in the open field. He is the safest receiving option in the game today.

He will finish the first week of action with the best fantasy performance of the week across all positions. His best work very well could still be ahead of him this season as Minnesota competes in more higher-scoring games.

Against the Philadelphia Eagles, next Monday has the potential to become the highest-scoring affair of the week. Jefferson’s next conquest is Darius Slay, who could certainly struggle to keep up.
