Week 6 of the 2019 season

Result: Vikings won 38-20

Week 6 of the 2019 season was an interesting time for the Vikings. Minnesota was a couple of weeks removed from the infamous “truth to all rumors” comments from wide receiver Stefon Diggs and some were wondering if this team had what it took to earn a spot in the playoffs.

Based on what the Vikings and Diggs were able to do in Week 6 against the Eagles, they certainly looked like a team that belonged in the postseason.

Midway through the second quarter, Diggs caught a 62-yard touchdown pass from Minnesota quarterback Kirk Cousins to put the Vikings up 17-3. Then on Minnesota’s very next offensive drive, Cousins connected with Diggs again for a 51-yard score.

Midway through the third quarter, the Vikings were only leading the Eagles by four points. But before Philadelphia could figure out a way to pull ahead, Cousins connected with Diggs once again on an 11-yard touchdown pass that increased Minnesota’s lead back to a double-digit amount.

In the end, Cousins finished with 333 passing yards, four touchdowns, and one interception, while Diggs accumulated seven catches for 167 yards and three scores. The Eagles truly had no answer for the former Vikings fifth-round pick and it led to an 18-point loss for Philadelphia.
