Week 7 of the 1976 season

Result: Vikings won 31-12

In their seventh game of the 1976 season, the 5-0-1 Vikings traveled to Philadelphia to take on an Eagles team that had only won two of their first six contests of the year.

After the first two quarters, it didn’t seem like Minnesota was the better team as the Eagles went into the half with a 9-7 lead. But things were much different for the Vikings when they returned to the field for the final two quarters of the game.

Minnesota went on to outscore Philadelphia 24-3 in the second half thanks to a 35-yard touchdown pass from Fran Tarkenton to Sammy White and a pair of rushing touchdowns by Vikings running back Chuck Foreman.

To go along with his two scores, Foreman finished with 265 total yards (200 rushing, 65 receiving) on 34 touches while Tarkenton ended his day with 249 passing yards, two touchdowns, and one interception.

This 1976 Vikings team went on to finish with an 11-2-1 record and an appearance in Super Bowl XI against the Oakland Raiders.
