Don’t underestimate the Eagles

The Minnesota Vikings might be riding on the crest of a wave after Week 1, but they would do well not to underestimate the Philadelphia Eagles. A deep roster from top to bottom that could go deep into the playoffs if everything clicks into place.

Philadelphia became one of the more active teams this offseason, bolstering almost every area significantly through free-agent signings, high-value draft moves, and an eye-catching trade for wide receiver A.J. Brown. Something that means there are no more excuses for quarterback Jalen Hurts, but has propelled them from also-rans to dark horse contenders in the blink of an eye.

Winning in the trenches is of paramount importance on Monday Night Football. The Eagles are littered with talent on offensive and defensive lines, so the Vikings must hold their own in these two key areas, at the very least.

The NFL is a week-to-week league. Those who are high on the Vikings now might not be after Monday’s game if they fall flat on their face at Lincoln Financial Field, which was the home of their disappointing NFC Championship loss during the 2017 season.

Both teams have something to prove in Week 2. If the Vikings can come away from such a hostile environment with the win, there’s just no telling what this franchise might be capable of.
