A.J. Brown will have over 150 yards

We talked about the type of impact the Vikings’ defense can have if they get pressure on Jalen Hurts. But if they can’t get to the quarterback, there’s a good chance that he’ll get the ball to A.J. Brown.

Minnesota’s defense was confusing in Week 1. They dominated the Packers and held them to seven points, but they also had times where they were prone to the big play. The first play of the year was a big example where Christian Watson torched Patrick Peterson before letting a 75-yard touchdown slip through his fingers.

This was a problem throughout the secondary where Cameron Dantzler was the only Vikings cornerback to record a PFF grade over 60. The Vikings could decide to throw Dantzler on Brown, but there’s a better chance that they trust the veteran to shut him down.

Peterson isn’t a bad cornerback, but he’s not the All-Pro that he was earlier in his career. If Hurts has time to throw, Brown could have a big game.
