5 Bold Predictions: Minnesota Vikings vs. Philadelphia Eagles – Week 2
By Chris Schad
The Eagles will win a shoot-out in Philadelphia
The Vikings surprised a lot of people by dominating the Packers in Week 1. Although it would be easy to believe that they could replicate that success against the Eagles, this same roster has had its share of ups and downs.
Just take a look at last year. Greg Joseph missed a game-winning field goal against the Arizona Cardinals before the Vikings blew away the Seattle Seahawks. Minnesota scored seven points against the Cleveland Browns before beating the Detroit Lions on a last-second field goal.
They won in overtime against the Carolina Panthers. They lost to Cooper Rush. They beat the Packers at home before Cousins lined up behind the guard. Dantzler gave up a Hail Mary in Detroit. The Vikings had a Christmas hangover against the Los Angeles Rams. Up and down. Round and round. The pain never stops.
O’Connell has made plenty of changes since coming to Minnesota but the same roster remains. A team that has missed the playoffs over the past two seasons, it’s not wise to believe the Vikings have turned over a new leaf until they actually do it.
The Vikings won’t get blown out in Philadelphia, but there’s a good chance the Eagles will pull this one out.
Prediction: Eagles win 34-31
