Dalvin Cook – RB

Don’t panic. I repeat, don’t panic. It’s been a very slow start, to say the least, but there will be much brighter days ahead for Dalvin Cook.

It’s good to keep in mind that the Vikings are still just getting used to their new offensive system under head coach Kevin O’Connell. Minnesota opted to hold their starters out of the preseason, and it shows.

As the weeks pass, the Vikings will continue acclimating to the new approach, and Cook is undeniably one of the centerpieces of any success that lays ahead.

Still, only 12 touches (for 36 yards) on Monday, which were evenly split between passing targets and rushing attempts, is horrifying for any player drafted in the first two rounds. Managers may want to look at selling Cook high once he does bounce back, depending on the format of play.

Next week against the Lions could be Cook’s breakout game for the season, but that’s certainly not a promise. Regardless, he was drafted to be the top running back on all fantasy teams, and won’t be considered for benching for at least another two weeks.
