Darrisaw is on a path to being elite
Last year, the Vikings used their highest draft pick on an offensive tackle since 2012 when they selected former Virginia Tech left tackle Christian Darrisaw.
As a rookie in 2021, Darrisaw showed some flashes of excellence out on the field. But he also had plenty of moments that reminded everyone that he was a first-year NFL player.
This season, Darrisaw is off to a great start, and it’s one that should have Minnesota very excited about his future.
So far this year, the Vikings’ young left tackle has only given up five pressures according to PFF, which includes his performance on Sunday in which he allowed zero pressures on 42 pass-blocking snaps.
Minnesota hasn’t had a left tackle with elite potential in a very long time. But with the way that Darrisaw is performing so far this season, it’s going to be hard to ignore him at the end of the year when it comes time to select players for the All-Pro and Pro Bowl rosters.
