No need to worry about Joseph… yet

After a summer in which it felt like he couldn’t miss a kick, Greg Joseph reminded Vikings fans on Sunday why they are never satisfied with the performance of a kicker.

Joseph attempted two field goals against the Lions, both from 56-yards away, and both sailed to the right of the uprights as if a giant gust of wind blew into U.S. Bank Stadium at the exact moment that he kicked the football.

Despite his two misses on Sunday, Minnesota shouldn’t be worried about their kicker just yet. 56 yards is a very difficult kick to make for anyone in the NFL and the chances of him converting both, or even one, of his attempts, were pretty low.

On the bright side, Joseph made all four of his extra-point tries against Detroit this weekend, which are all, of course, attempted from 33 yards away.

The Vikings are still very confident in their kicker this season, especially special teams coordinator Matt Daniels, so we should be too, right?
