Cam Dantzler – CB

Cam Dantzler was arguably the most disappointing Vikings in Sunday’s game. The guy struggled in coverage and wasn’t any better when it came to tackling.

Dantzler was giving his man about a nine-yard cushion on every play. This led to easy receptions as Dantzler couldn’t close the gap in time to knock the ball away as he was just too far off his man. He never adjusted throughout the game and was continually picked on by Jared Goff and the Lions’ offense.

Dantzler’s coverage has always been hit or miss, but one area of his game that is usually very strong is his tackling. Dantzler is about as sure a tackler as there is but was missing tackles left and right against the Lions’ pass catchers. We saw him whiff on a run blitz late in the game, on top of missing the tackles when the man he was supposed to be covering caught the ball.

This is the second straight poor game we’ve seen from Dantzler. It may be time to try another option and it wouldn’t be shocking to see Akayleb Evans get worked in starting next week when the team travels to London.
