3 unsung heroes from the Vikings win over the Saints in week 4
By Clay Vasquez
Cameron Dantzler – CB
It was a bit of a rough week for the Vikings on defense against a hobbled Saints offense, but a win is a win no matter what in the NFL.
Lost in all the struggles of Minnesota’s defense was a stellar performance from third-year cornerback Cameron Dantzler. So far, Dantzler has had an up and down season, but his performance in London in Week 4 is a great sign that he could be steadying the ship.
Dantzler tallied five tackles and three pass breakups against New Orleans, one of which should have been an interception that just slipped through his hands.
This solid performance led to Dantzler being PFF’s second-highest graded player on the Vikings’ defense in Week 4, just behind Dalvin Tomlinson, who is continuing to have an amazing season in the trenches.
With Minnesota corner Patrick Peterson having a resurgence opposite of Dantzler, this may lead to the younger corner being targeted more by opponents, and if he continues his stellar play from this past weekend, that could lead to some tough sledding for opposing offenses.
