Right before the start of the 2022 season, the Vikings decided to send a pair of Day 3 draft picks in 2023 to the Philadelphia Eagles in exchange for wide receiver Jalen Reagor.

There was some immediate optimism after the deal for Reagor as some felt he still had plenty of time to live up to the expectations that came with being a first-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.

So far this year though, Minnesota hasn’t really explored what they can do with Reagor in their offense as he’s only been on the field for 14 offensive snaps. In the Vikings’ first four games, the young receiver has just two catches for nine yards on four targets and one rushing attempt for 17 yards.

It seems like Minnesota’s trade for Reagor was to mostly make sure they had someone who could return punts for them this season. But, as it is the case with Kene Nwangwu, it feels like the Vikings are missing out on opportunities to throw off their opponents even slightly by not having Reagor just out on the field for a few more offensive snaps each week.

Reagor has the ability to be used in a variety of different ways as he can take a carry on a jet-sweep, he can line up in the backfield, he can go out wide for a screen pass, or he can beat a defender with his speed to get open deep down the field.

Despite all of the different ways that Minnesota could use the third-year wide receiver, they’ve basically opted against him even having a decent role in the offense.
