After his fumble led to a Minnesota Vikings win on Sunday, Chicago Bears fans are less than thrilled with wide receiver Ihmir Smith-Marsette.
Inside U.S Bank Stadium on Sunday, Chicago Bears wide receiver Ihmir Smith-Marsette had a unique opportunity to take on the Minnesota Vikings, the team that waived him less than two months ago.
Smith-Marsette was likely hoping to make some memories that involved handing his former team a loss this weekend. But unfortunately for him, he’s going to remember Sunday’s game for the wrong reasons.

Chicago Bears fans want former Minnesota Vikings WR Ihmir Smith-Marsette off the team
Following Smith-Marsette’s costly fumble that ultimately resulted in Minnesota leaving the field with a win on Sunday, Bears fans took to Twitter to express their frustrations about the young receiver.
Unsurprisingly, they weren’t very kind.

Ihmir Smith-Marsette is a guy I'd cut as the team gets N'Keal Harry back for Commanders.

Pivotal block in the back and then not getting out of bounds to give up a fumble to lose any chance of a win.
CUT HIS ASS!!#DaBears
Ihmir Smith-Marsette.

Block in the back to take away Justin Fields’ game sealing touchdown. Fumble to lose the game.
He doesn’t deserve to be on an NFL roster. Absolute joke.
ihmir smith-marsette might be the worst bear ever

Ihmir Smith-Marsette should be released immediately and find his own way back home to Chicago. No way does he deserve to get on the same flight as the rest of the team.

Smith-Marsette’s trip back to Minnesota definitely didn’t go as he had hoped and his fumble wasn’t the only significant mistake he made either.
A 52-yard touchdown run by Bears quarterback Justin Fields in the fourth quarter was called back thanks to an illegal block in the back by Smith-Marsette. Chicago wound up settling for a field goal as a result of the penalty.
It really was just a tremendously bad day for the former Vikings receiver. And the fact that his poor performance happened against his former team made it even worse.
Will Smith-Marsette’s mistakes result in him being let go by the Bears in the near future? It’s possible, but Chicago isn’t exactly swimming in wide receiver depth also, so the young pass-catcher getting another shot wouldn’t be surprising either.
Plenty of players around the NFL have games that are memorable for the wrong reasons. For Smith-Marsette, he’s probably just hoping that he gets an opportunity to prove to people that what he did on Sunday was not the norm.
