What did we learn about the Minnesota Vikings after they were able to come out of an NFC North battle in Week 5 with a win over the Chicago Bears?
After scoring their third touchdown of the game to take an 18-point lead, most felt that the Minnesota Vikings were going to cruise to a victory in their Week 5 matchup with the Chicago Bears on Sunday.
But that would have been way too easy for the Vikings. Instead, Minnesota allowed the Bears to score 19-straight points and take a one-point lead midway through the fourth quarter of Sunday’s game.
Luckily, Minnesota was able to pull it together and retake the lead over Chicago, a lead that they wound up holding onto until the final whistle.
One day, it would be nice for the Vikings to immediately take control of a game, and never take their foot off the gas pedal. But maybe we should have just expected Minnesota’s 2021 habit of playing close games to continue this season since there are still a good amount of players from last year’s roster on the current team.
Either way, the Vikings got the win on Sunday, and they improved their record to 4-1 this season. Minnesota is also in sole possession of first place in the NFC North now after the Green Bay Packers suffered a loss over in London, England to the New York Giants.
We’re only five weeks into the 2022 season, so we still don’t know enough about the Vikings to feel good about their possibility of contending this year. But we did learn a little bit more about Minnesota’s potential during their win on Sunday.
So what are some of the biggest takeaways from the Vikings’ most recent victory over the Bears?
