Cook will enjoy a happy homecoming
After struggling the first couple of weeks, Dalvin Cook came to life against the Bears. The Vikings running back ran for 94 yards and two touchdowns last week and figures to have a similar game against the Dolphins.
Miami comes into Sunday’s game allowing 4.1 yards per carry – tied for 24th in the NFL – but the New York Jets ran over the Dolphins last Sunday, collecting 135 yards and five touchdowns on the ground. Breece Hall was the main beneficiary, running for a career-high 97 yards while also tallying 100 yards receiving on two catches.
While the Vikings’ ground attack has a ways to go, there’s no reason why Cook can’t have a big game on Sunday. The Vikings may not be able to throw downfield against the Miami defense, but the ability to rack up yards underneath could play into Cook’s hands.
As we saw with Hall, a couple of receptions could go a long way, and if Cook finds the end zone, there’s a chance the Miami native could have a happy homecoming.
