Vikings squeak out a win over the Dolphins

If you read last week’s column, you would have seen that I predicted a smashing of the Chicago Bears. For the first 25 minutes, it looked like that would be the case but the Vikings let the Bears back into the game and needed to come from behind to earn the victory.

The effort left many Vikings fans exhausted and wanting more, but it might just be who they are. With an aging defense and an offense that hasn’t quite clicked yet, there may be more close games to come.

The Vikings are on the tail end of a grueling travel schedule to open the season, but there should be enough here to pick up a win. Hill and Waddle could break free for a long reception, but Kevin O’Connell has inspired enough confidence in his team to help lead them to victory.

That would send the Vikings into the bye week at 5-1 and give them an opportunity to refine some weaknesses for the second half of the season.

Prediction: Vikings win 27-24
