Current chances of Odell Beckham Jr. signing with Vikings revealed

Free-agent wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. is still in need of a new team for the 2022 season and some are hoping he’ll sign with the Minnesota Vikings.
Within the last 48 hours, the idea of free-agent wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. signing with the Minnesota Vikings has certainly picked up a lot of steam. But for now, this possibility is mostly based on speculation and nothing more.
On Thursday’s episode of SKOR North’s “Mackey & Judd”, KSTP’s Darren Wolfson was asked if he has heard anything regarding Beckham potentially signing with the Vikings. For those that would like to see the receiver in Minnesota, Wolfson’s comments aren’t what one would refer to as “encouraging”.
"“What I know is, as of right now, there just isn’t any steam. There just isn’t. And if I had to bet, Odell Beckham Jr. does not land [in Minnesota].”"
Why Odell Beckham Jr. to the Minnesota Vikings still cannot be ruled out
In addition to his initial comments on the possibility of Beckham signing with the Vikings, Wolfson did also mention that Minnesota does already have a good relationship with the receiver’s agent, Zeke Sandhu, since he also represents Vikings pass rusher Danielle Hunter.
But that’s just another connection to Minnesota and not something that could indicate a possible partnership between the team and Beckham within the next few weeks.
Most are assuming that the free-agent receiver will eventually sign with either the Buffalo Bills or the Kansas City Chiefs.
Bills linebacker Von Miller, Beckham’s former teammate with the Los Angeles Rams, has been campaigning for the veteran receiver to sign with Buffalo for the last few weeks. While the Chiefs are reportedly a “strong contender” to sign Beckham this year, according to Pro Football Network’s Aaron Wilson on Wednesday.
Right now, the Vikings are clearly not in the mix to sign the prized free-agent wide receiver. However, there’s still time for this to change since the expectation is that Beckham isn’t going to sign with a team until after the November 1st trade deadline, according to FanSided’s Matt Verderame.
A lot can happen between now and this year’s trade deadline. Minnesota could be sitting with a 6-1 record by then, major injuries on the rosters of the Bills and Chiefs are always possible, and Beckham might just want to work in an offensive system like Kevin O’Connell’s that’s already allowed him to have success in his career.
The odds of Beckham signing with the Vikings this season are currently low. But this is still something for Minnesota to keep an eye on until the receiver actually signs with a team this year.
