Which remaining games on the team’s 2022 schedule will likely be the toughest for the Minnesota Vikings to come away with a win?
The Minnesota Vikings have made the most of their start to the Kevin O’Connell era with an impressive 5-1 record after their first six games of the 2022 season. As they look to be threats in the playoffs, Minnesota currently sits alone atop the NFC North, and they are the second seed in the entire NFC.
The Vikings, who are no strangers to hot starts followed by misfortunes, will still have to remain diligent in the rest of their season to ensure not just their first playoff berth since 2019, but to also try the ever-long quest of obtaining their first Lombardi Trophy.
The 2003 and 2016 seasons served as hot starts followed by tragedy when Minnesota began 6-0 and 5-0 respectively but failed to make the playoffs. With the current Vikings at 5-1 with a new head coach and general manager, it’s needless to say the team will want to avoid such.
With 11 games remaining in the regular season, Minnesota will have to command the resiliency and grit that has rewarded them with their hot start. While the Detroit Lions, Indianapolis Colts, or Chicago Bears might not seem like threats, the Vikings can’t afford to losses to these teams.
That said, there are teams that scream threat on Minnesota’s schedule and on the field. Teams that have not only had a hot start to their season but look to continue to ride a wave of success and will have a “take no prisoners” attitude when they face the Vikings.
These teams will be the ones that fans, players, and alike will mark on the schedule as a must-see matchup. Where should these contests and the others left on Minnesota’s schedule rank in terms of difficulty?
