5 Bold Predictions: Minnesota Vikings vs. Arizona Cardinals – Week 8
By Chris Schad
Kyler Murray will throw for over 400 yards
There might be a lot of people sleeping on Kyler Murray this weekend – and for good reason. According to a Reddit thread, Murray has never won on a weekend where the video game “Call of Duty” has had a double XP weekend, and with a new version of the game coming out on Friday, there’s a good chance he’ll be smashing this year’s game up until kickoff.
The validity of this report can be questioned, but if the Vikings believe that Murray is going to be thinking about the best place to camp out on a COD map, they’re already screwed.
Murray is the type of dual-threat quarterback the Vikings have struggled against in recent memory. In last year’s meeting in Arizona, he threw for 400 yards in a game that many Vikings fans believe they should have won if not for a Greg Joseph missed field goal.
What’s more troubling is that the Vikings’ pass defense is even worse than the last time they saw Murray. Minnesota is allowing 8.4 yards per attempt this season, which is the highest clip in the league. The Vikings are also one of six teams to allow more than 7.5 yards per attempt this season.
With weapons everywhere, this should be a game where Murray will let it fly. If the Vikings haven’t made an adjustment, he could be in for a big afternoon.
