5 Bold Predictions: Minnesota Vikings vs. Arizona Cardinals – Week 8

DeAndre Hopkins will roast Chandon Sullivan in the slot
DeAndre Hopkins delivered some fire with last week’s return video, but he also was hot on the field, collecting a team-high 14 targets in last week’s win against the Saints. Most notably, Hopkins ran 42.4 percent of his routes in the slot, which is a big problem for the Vikings’ defense.
That’s because Chandon Sullivan has been cooked in the slot this season. According to Pro Football Focus, Sullivan ranks 10th in the NFL among qualifying slot corners with 1.87 yards per coverage snap, and opposing passers are racking up a 130.2 passer rating – the fourth-highest rating in the NFL – when targeting Sullivan in the slot.
We already talked about how Murray could light up this defense on Sunday, but if Kingsbury has common sense, Sullivan should be his top target. With Robby Anderson, Greg Dortch, and Rondale Moore also getting action in the slot, it could be a busy day for Sullivan and a hectic one for the Vikings’ defense.
