Kris Boyd – CB

Though Kris Boyd has not seen much playing time at the corner position, the place where he is really shining is on special teams. Boyd has been a gunner on the punt unit and has been catching the attention of Vikings fans for his solid performance at the position.

Boyd has found a way to seemingly be the first man down the field on most punts, and he has made it a nightmare for the opposing returners to get anywhere on the field.

Boyd continued his great play this year on a muffed punt by Arizona, in which he, once again, was the first man to the returner, and though he wasn’t the player who recovered the ball for Minnesota, he greatly impacted the play in favor of the Vikings.

Honorable shout-outs to Kene Nwangwu and Troy Dye on the play too. Nwangwu wasn’t far behind Boyd in terms of getting to the returner, as he cleared up space for Dye to dive in and recover the football. While those two were integral to the play, it wouldn’t have happened without Boyd.

That muffed punt led to a Vikings touchdown, so props to Kris Boyd and the punting unit for continuing their underappreciated success.
