Minnesota Vikings vs. Patriots

This is not the New England Patriots dynasty team of old, but any roster managed by Bill Belichick commands instant respect. However, the Minnesota Vikings should be heavily favored in Week 12 and this is an outstanding chance to notch another win in the column.

It’s been an indifferent start for the Patriots in 2022. Although there were some signs of life in Week 8 during their eye-catching triumph over the New York Jets.

Before last weekend there seemed to be a quarterback controversy brewing between Mac Jones and rookie Bailey Zappe. Not exactly ideal for the Alabama product given this is only his second year in the NFL and it’s a far cry from the stability New England enjoyed with Tom Brady under center for two decades.

Having the conviction to put teams like this away comfortably is what separates the contenders from the also-rans. Minnesota’s let too many big leads slip this season before pulling out the victory late on, so further complications won’t be tolerated heading into the business end of the campaign.

Prediction: Win (9-2)

This is the time of year when big performances are needed no matter what the opposition. Minnesota and New England might be on different trajectories in 2022, but Belichick won’t be going down without a fight that’s for sure.
