Hockenson looks to be a reliable weapon

Getting their shiny new weapon on the field may not have resulted in a  massive offensive outpour, but former Lions tight end T.J. Hockenson looked really good in his first game for the purple and gold.

The ball was thrown Hockenson’s way nine times on Sunday and he caught every single one of them for a total of 70 yards. He will be a target that Kirk Cousins could go to often, especially when Justin Jefferson attracts defenders.

The tight end was second in receiving yards on the team in Sunday, gaining three more yards than veteran receiver Adam Thielen. This proves that the sky could be the limit for the former top-ten overall pick by Detroit.

Hockenson was an asset in pass protection well, helping out an offensive line that was having a tough day protecting the quarterback and creating running lanes for Dalvin Cook. Expect him to keep getting more involved in the offense over the next coming weeks.
