A.J. Bouye – CB

A.J. Bouye is another player with experience under Ed Donatell, having played for the defensive coordinator out in Denver in 2020. Spending last year with the Carolina Panthers, Bouye was released at the beginning of this off-season and has yet to find a home.

The former Houston Texans standout had a PFF grade of 66.8 last season, and while Minnesota’s secondary isn’t depleted by far, a veteran presence could help.

Patrick Peterson is making the most out of his one-year contract extension with the team, and he has been playing some of his best football since returning to the Twin Cities. But as one of the only true veteran corners the team has, the extra wisdom could help.

With young stars like Cam Dantzler and rookies Akayleb Evans and Andrew Booth Jr., the Vikings could elect to add another veteran to the mix. Bouye has the experience and familiarity with the defense to make such a move a quick fix.

As they move into their postseason run, the team will be facing the best of the best when it comes to quarterbacks, and the experience wouldn’t hurt, whether on the sideline or on the field.

With the aforementioned Eagles already stacking up on their defense, Minnesota may want to follow suit but elect to look into the secondary and consider a player like Bouye.
