The magic number is two.

It feels like way too early in the season to be talking about clinching the NFC North but the reality of the situation is that the Minnesota Vikings are much closer to achieving that goal than many fans may think.

Since Minnesota has a 9-2 record and has already beaten each team in the division once, the struggling Packers and Lions are tied for second in the  NFC North at 4-7, placing them five games back.

All it would really take is one more win by the Vikings and one more loss for both the Packers and Lions to make the division win and a playoff berth a reality this early in the season, which is a bit surprising.

Few gave the restructuring Minnesota Vikings a chance since they just hired a new GM, head coach, and coaching staff and were implementing new schemes on both offense and defense, but it seems that the learning curve isn’t too much for this team.
