As Greg Joseph continues to struggle during the 2022 season, who are a few free-agent kickers that the Minnesota Vikings could sign in the near future?

Kickers are a sore subject for the Minnesota Vikings and their fans. There have just been too many moments during the franchise’s history that saw the Vikings suffer a heartbreaking loss thanks to a kicker making a mistake.

The relationship between Minnesota’s fans and the team’s current kicker, Greg Joseph, isn’t any better this season.

Joseph had a tremendous performance this summer during the Vikings’ training camp, and the coaching staff couldn’t stop raving about him. But then the regular season began, and Joseph’s play has not matched how he performed during the summer.

During Minnesota’s 11 games this year, he has missed a total of 10 kicks (five field-goal attempts and five extra-point attempts). Oddly enough, all of Joseph’s missed field-goal tries this season have come from at least 50 yards away.

Somehow, none of his missed kicks have come back to haunt the Vikings in any of their games this year. But just because that hasn’t happened yet, it doesn’t mean that Minnesota shouldn’t be prepared for when it might actually happen.

So as they are preparing for their upcoming Week 13 matchup inside U.S. Bank Stadium against the New York Jets, who are some of the current free-agent kickers that the Vikings should consider bringing in for at least a tryout?
