Before 2022, Brandon Aubrey had never played professional football before. Aubrey was actually a professional soccer player who was selected in the first round of the 2017 MLS SuperDraft by Toronto FC.

After his soccer career didn’t turn out as he had probably hoped, Aubrey made the transition to American football, and eventually, the Birmingham Stallions selected him in the 2022 USFL Draft to be their kicker.

All Aubrey did during his first-ever season as a kicker was lead all kickers in the league in scoring with 76 points by knocking down 18-of-22 field goal attempts and 22-of-24 extra-point tries. Not bad for his first time ever kicking for a professional football team.

Back in July, he had the opportunity to work out with the Seattle Seahawks. Nothing ever came of his tryout with the Seahawks, but it showed that people in the NFL do currently have him on their radar.

Aubrey has already proven that he can get the job done in the USFL, and he’s likely only going to improve as a kicker in the future. Should the Vikings be the team that gives him a chance in the NFL?
