Austin Seibert

Austin Seibert is someone who actually has experience with kicking inside U.S. Bank Stadium. Seibert has played in two games inside the Vikings’ home building both as a member of the Detroit Lions.

Last season, he knocked down all three of his field-goal attempts inside U.S. Bank Stadium, including one from 52 yards away. This year, however, went much differently for Seibert in the Twin Cities as he missed two of his three field-goal tries during Detroit’s Week 3 loss to Minnesota.

During his last 13 games in the NFL as a member of both the Lions and Cincinnati Bengals, Seibert has converted 19 of his 25 field-goal attempts (76 percent). That’s not an ideal conversion rate for an NFL kicker, but he also made all 25 of his extra-point tries during this time period.

Seibert might be worth a spot on the practice squad for the Vikings. This way, if Greg Joseph continues to perform poorly, Minnesota already has someone ready to come in and be his replacement.
