5 impending free agents the Vikings should re-sign in 2023

Nick Mullens – QB
The Minnesota Vikings struggled for several years to find a capable quarterback to act as the team’s backup in case the starter went down and those problems amplified when Kirk Cousins took over at QB.
Although it’s nice that Cousins doesn’t miss much time at all, the Vikings need to have a viable option without creating controversy or spending a lot of salary cap on a player considered by most to be an insurance policy.
Mullens is in the final year of a two-year deal worth $2 million and will likely get an extension since Minnesota did give up a conditional seventh-round pick to obtain his services which may not seem like much but still means they liked him more than other opinions at the time.
While the Minnesota Vikings could go a different direction, as long as Cousins is the main man for the purple and gold, Mullens should be his right-hand man to give the team a solid chance if something happens at the quarterback position.
