Close Call: Patrick Peterson – CB

Patrick Peterson is making the most out of his time as a Viking and has even seen a career resurgence. Unfortunately, that may not be enough to lock the veteran into another Pro Bowl appearance.

Tariq Wooden currently leads the voting for corners in the NFC, and while Peterson has grabbed three interceptions this season, it may not be enough.

The popularity contest aspect of fan voting for the NFL’s all-star game may outweigh the second-life Peterson has found in Minnesota, and too many younger, popular names may beat out the veteran in the selection process.

Peterson hasn’t made the Pro Bowl since 2018 when he was a member of the Arizona Cardinals. So to miss out on the event one more time may not be too much of a shock, but it’s not to say it’s deserved.

His play and veteran-savvy mindset have played a huge part in Minnesota’s success, specifically his game-sealing interception against the Vikings’ matchup against the Buffalo Bills. Unfortunately, too many names may come to voters’ minds first before the veteran corners’ does.

Luckily, another corner may be able to represent the Minnesota Vikings in the Pro Bowl, just in another area of football.
