Lock: Kris Boyd – CB

Kris Boyd may not be the corner Patrick Peterson is, nor may he ever be a shut-down corner in the league. However, he has a strong chance to represent the Vikings as a Pro Bowl-voted corner, just on special teams and not in the secondary.

The 26-year-old cornerback hardly spends time on the field as a member of the Vikings secondary, but rather for punt returns and kickoffs, where this season he played an average of 76 percent of the Vikings special teams snaps.

Special teams may not be the fundamental moment of a Pro Bowl matchup, especially considering this year’s format. However, if the special teams players are indeed voted in, Boyd leads them all and is all but a lock to don a Viking-based attire to Las Vegas for the show.

Considering the lack of special team love the Pro Bowl has shown, even before the format, this brings us to a well-deserved special teams player that will be a close call for the Minnesota Vikings simply due to the lack of star power in a name.
