Close Call: Kirk Cousins – QB

Kirk Cousins has been playing great football under new coach Kevin O’Connell, but it might not be enough to get him into the pro bowl. With the celebrity awe of NFC quarterbacks, names like Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers may get the nod over Cousins in a case of recognition and brand over actual play.

Both Rodgers and Brady have slowed down this year, and while Cousins may not be the quarterback they are, his name deserves consideration in Pro Bowl voting. Unfortunately, when you’re competing against the two aforementioned, it may be all for naught.

Add in younger names like Dak Prescott and Jalen Hurts, and it may be a difficult case for Cousins to make his third Pro Bowl as a Viking.

Even if voted in, Rodgers has a tendency to miss the event, and Brady is always an unknown. Cousins may earn the right as a reserve and eventually play the event if the Vikings aren’t planning to play the best AFC team in Arizona.

But on voting and name recognition alone, Cousins may miss out on a well-deserved Pro Bowl nod.
