How could the Minnesota Vikings fare during their final five games of the 2022 NFL season?
After yet another dramatic victory in Week 13 against the New York Jets, the Minnesota Vikings are all but assured of playoff football and the NFC North crown. It’s been close-fought more often than not to get Kevin O’Connell to this point, but having a 10-2 record at this stage of the campaign represents an outstanding accomplishment, whichever way one looks at it.
There is a lot of hard work left for the Vikings. Especially if they want to be considered among the legitimate Super Bowl challengers by the time knockout football begins.
Some ongoing problems could complicate matters, which is something O’Connell must figure out sooner rather than later. However, the talent is there, and Minnesota is gaining tremendous momentum at the right time, which always helps.
Looking ahead, we took a look at how the Vikings might get on over their remaining five games at the business end of 2022.
Week 14
Minnesota Vikings at Detroit Lions
The Detroit Lions won’t be an easy out for the Vikings in Week 14. They are fighting hard for everything under head coach Dan Campbell and seem to be turning things around slightly after a difficult opening to the campaign.
Minnesota needs to be wary of some supreme threats on offense. Jared Goff is also performing far better than many envisaged before the season, so avoiding complacency is the only way the Vikings are going to emerge with yet another victory from this one.
Prediction: Loss (10-3)
This will be a game decided by fine margins, one suspects. But the Lions are flying after dropping 40 points against the Jacksonville Jaguars and will be confident of getting another notable scalp.
