Week 17
Minnesota Vikings at Green Bay Packers
This is normally one of the most difficult games in any circumstance. Visiting the Green Bay Packers on what promises to be a freezing afternoon isn’t ideal at this time of year, but the Minnesota Vikings are made of sterner stuff these days and can be more competitive than the team that got steamrolled at Lambeau Field in 2021.
Green Bay is also going through some significant turmoil this season. Things just haven’t clicked overall after the team’s decision to trade Davante Adams to the Las Vegas Raiders, although rookie Christian Watson is gradually coming to life after an indifferent opening to his first year in the pros.
If the Packers are still fighting for a wildcard spot, then Aaron Rodgers will play. Should the Packers be eliminated by this point, then the coaching staff could use their remaining games to get a good look at what Jordan Love can do.
There will be no quarter given by either team whether there’s something at stake or not. These are two bitter rivals with a storied history, which normally makes for physical and enthralling contests whenever they are matched up.
Prediction: Loss (12-4)
As stated previously, this will depend on whether Rodgers is under center. But for now, the veteran signal-caller doesn’t intend to turn it in just yet, and this could prove crucial to the outcome based on recent history.
