Predicting the final five games of Minnesota Vikings 2022 season
By Dean Jones
Week 18
Minnesota Vikings at Chicago Bears
The Minnesota Vikings’ final game might not mean all that much. If Kevin O’Connell’s men have already confirmed their seeding spot ahead of their trip to the Chicago Bears, then it could see plenty of established stars rested before their playoff journey begins.
Justin Fields is starting to show why he was so highly coveted by the Bears during the 2021 NFL Draft. His dual-threat ability is exciting and dangerous in equal measure, which will pose a significant threat to the Vikings if they aren’t sufficiently prepared.
Prediction: Win (13-4)
At the end of the day, any fan would have taken a 13-4 record before the campaign. It’s been a tough slog with plenty of drama, but the Vikings possess more than enough in their locker to make their presence felt in the postseason.
This would likely give the Vikings a home playoff game to open with. If they come through their first test, then who knows what could happen after that?
Of course, there’s every chance this can go wrong, as is often the case when examining the Vikings and the ongoing quest for their first-ever Super Bowl. But the atmosphere across the franchise under O’Connell is refreshing and could provide the catalyst behind short and long-term success.
