Garrett Bradbury – C
The Vikings had the opportunity to move on from Garrett Bradbury this off-season. Instead, new head coach Kevin O’Connell gave the center one final shot at turning his career around, even if the franchise was right not to pick up his fifth-year option based on his performance levels to date.
There was a real issue with communication and discipline with Bradbury in 2021. The former North Carolina State standout has been much better this time around, growing in confidence with every passing game and clearly benefitting from a fresh coaching staff with different ideas.
This mini-renaissance gives Minnesota a decision to make regarding Bradbury before free agency. While exploring better options cannot be ignored, those in power must not dismiss the significant improvements made by the offensive lineman, either.
Finances are not readily available for the Vikings in 2023, according to projections. So that might play a part in the decision-making process when it comes to Bradbury, who has a solid 71.0 grade from Pro Football Focus as a result of his efforts this season.
Considering Bradbury’s aspirations before the campaign, getting another contract offer would be the best-case scenario. But much will depend on the money involved if he keeps performing in a similar fashion over the team’s remaining five fixtures.
