Cornerback Cameron Dantzler will be returning to the Minnesota Vikings thanks to a designation and has rejoined his teammates at practice.

The Minnesota Vikings will be getting an important player back in their defense and the team could really use the boost after giving up a lot of yards to the Jets and the Patriots in back-to-back weeks.

Defensive back Cameron Dantzler has returned to practice and has been designated for return along with rookie running back Ty Chandler to give an infusion of young talent on both sides of the ball.

How much will Dantzler’s return help the Minnesota Vikings?

In Cam Dantzler’s absence, the Vikings have experienced inconsistency at cornerback opposite veteran defender Patrick Peterson. Plus, rookie Andrew Booth Jr. was placed on injured reserve, depleting more of the young talent available on defense.

Dantzler, when healthy and ready, should be able to be inserted back into the team’s starting lineup. In his place, players like Andrew Booth, Duke Shelly, and Akayleb Evens have been getting the majority of snaps.

Being able to return at this stage of the season will help to solidify Minnesota as the champions of the NFC North since a victory in Detroit against the Lions on Sunday would earn them the division and guarantee a spot in the playoffs this season.

For a Minnesota Vikings team with so much talent in every unit, getting back two potentially electrifying young players could be what prepares them for what will likely be major challenges in the postseason.
