If you’re shocked by the odds above, you’re not alone. There is no reason why a 5-7 team should be favored over a 10-2 team, but oddsmakers in Las Vegas are likely just trying to make sure they have the advantage this weekend.

Three of the last four meetings between these two division rivals have been decided by just two points, and the other contest was only a four-point victory by the Vikings.

So even if people believe the Lions are going to come out on top, they would have to win by at least three points to cover the spread. Considering Detroit hasn’t won a matchup against Minnesota by more than two points since 2017, that’s quite the risk to take.

Despite oddsmakers not favoring the Vikings in this contest, FiveThirtyEight still has Minnesota with a 61 percent chance to win on Sunday, and ESPN’s Matchup Predictor has the purple and gold with a 56.8 percent chance to come away with a victory.

We should expect this Week 14 contest to be a close one, but the Vikings have been the better team all season long, and that should remain the same against the Lions on Sunday.
