Minnesota Vikings cornerback Patrick Peterson was recently included on a list of the top 25 players that are set to become free agents in 2023.

In his second year as a member of the Minnesota Vikings, cornerback Patrick Peterson has been having a bit of a rejuvenated season in 2022.

Heading into Week 14, Peterson has the fifth-best PFF grade among all NFL cornerbacks. If his grade remains the same or improves during the rest of the season, it will be his highest mark from PFF since 2018.

After it seemed like we might have already seen the last of Peterson playing at a high level in 2021, the veteran corner is performing like one of the best at his position this season, and it’s likely going to result in a nice payday for him in 2023.

PFF recently shared their list of the top 25 players that will be hitting free agency during the 2023 offseason. Due to his performance with Minnesota so far this year, Peterson was among those included on the list.

The Vikings‘ top cornerback was given the No. 21 slot on the list (fittingly), and at 32-years-old, the upcoming offseason might be his final opportunity to cash in big.

Peterson has made a significant impact for Minnesota this season, and choosing whether to bring him back in 2023 or not will be one of the big decisions they’ll have to make during the upcoming offseason.

If he isn’t looking to make an outrageous amount of money next season, then the Vikings might be able to work something out. But with Minnesota currently projected to be over the 2023 salary cap when free agency begins next year, they might not be able to afford a new deal for Peterson.
