Jefferson will have over 140 yards receiving
You may be asking yourself why 140 is the projected number here. That’s because the last time the Lions and Vikings met, Detroit held Justin Jefferson to a career-low 14 yards receiving.
A lot of the credit was given to Jeffrey Okudah, who covered Jefferson for a majority of the afternoon, but the Lions also used plenty of help over the top, which forced Cousins to look for other ways to move the ball. This strategy backfired when Osborn caught the game-winning touchdown late in the fourth quarter, but the pendulum could swing back to Jefferson in Detroit.
According to PFF, the Lions have six different cornerbacks that have allowed a passer rating of over 100 this season. Three of those cornerbacks (Amani Oruwariye, Mike Hughes, and Will Harris) have played over 240 coverage snaps this season.
When Jefferson has a tough game, he doesn’t stay down for long. Even though the Lions’ defense has played better over the last several weeks, they haven’t gone up against somebody like Jefferson, who could be looking for a big game on Sunday.
