The Minnesota Vikings have extra motivation

As if winning a game on the road against a division rival wasn’t a big enough incentive for the Minnesota Vikings to play their absolute hardest on Sunday, there are bigger reasons to give it their all.

A victory will make it mathematically a lock that the Vikings win the NFC North. A division win also ensures that Minnesota will host a game in the playoffs. That means there could be championship hats and shirts available after the game.

Of course, this might also be a big game for tight end T.J. Hockenson, who the Lions traded to the Vikings before the deadline. Hockenson might hold a grudge considering he was a big pick for them and now Detroit’s leadership didn’t see him in their future plans.

Expect every player for the Minnesota Vikings to be ready for action when game time comes. Although the Lions haven’t been eliminated from playoff contention yet, the odds of them earning a spot are low and they may want to play spoiler to the purple and gold.
