This team’s success does not hinge solely on the quarterback

In recent history, it has become easy to blame every loss on the quarterback. Although Kirk Cousins definitely has some off days where he struggles to play at a high level, Sunday’s game wasn’t one of those.

Cousins threw for 425 yards and two touchdowns with no interceptions while completing 31 of his 41 throws. and picking up 18 of the team’s 23 first downs through the air. He did his job against the Lions.

This was a big day for both quarterbacks. If you are a fan of watching offenses let it all rip, you would have enjoyed watching the 80 total pass attempt on the day for 755 yards and five touchdowns.

Those blaming this loss on Kirk Cousins may have to find a new scapegoat for the week because there isn’t much else he could do, especially when he was under pressure and sacked four times on the day.
