Who are the Minnesota Vikings whose poor play helped contribute to their loss to the Detroit Lions in Week 14?
The 2022 Minnesota Vikings lost their third game of the season this past Sunday against their division rival Detroit Lions. The Lions had no problem moving the ball down the field on the Vikings’ porous defense, racking up a total of 464 yards and 34 points.
Minnesota was without Harrison Smith in Detroit, but they did have Cam Dantzler back. It wasn’t nearly enough as Lions quarterback Jared Goff resembled Kurt Warner, slinging the ball down the field, making completion after completion, with hardly any pressure around him.
At least the Vikings’ offense showed up to keep this one from being a blowout like the team’s other two losses this season.
Kirk Cousins was magical on the day, throwing for 425 yards with two touchdowns. Justin Jefferson set a team record with 223 receiving yards, and it should’ve been more if not for a bogus out-of-bounds call.
As good as the offense was, it wasn’t enough, and Minnesota lost to the one-time laughingstock of the North.
Minnesota can look to get back on track this Saturday when the Indianapolis Colts come to town, but before we get to that, it’s time to look at the five most disappointing Vikings in the Week 14 loss to the Lions.
