Following Week 14 of the 2022 NFL season, where do the Minnesota Vikings fall in terms of the NFC North and NFC standings?

Unfortunately, the Minnesota Vikings were unable to come through when presented with the opportunity to clinch the NFC North this past weekend when they took on the Detroit Lions.

The Lions ended up getting the best of the Vikings in Week 14, thanks in part to an abysmal performance by Minnesota’s defense. No discredit to Detroit though, as they are clearly heading in the right direction in their second season with Dan Campbell as their head coach.

Despite their loss, the Vikings still have a stranglehold on the top of the NFC North as they continue to have a greater than 99 percent chance to capture the division crown this season, according to FiveThirtyEight.

  • 1. Minnesota Vikings (10-3)
  • 2. Detroit Lions (6-7)
  • 3. Green Bay Packers (5-8)
  • 4. Chicago Bears (3-10)

Even after falling to the Lions this past weekend, Minnesota still only needs one more win to clinch their first NFC North title since 2017. The Vikings can also win the division next week if Detroit loses their matchup on the road against the New York Jets.

Both the Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bears had their bye in Week 14, so neither team was able to add another loss to their 2022 record.
