Week 16
Minnesota Vikings vs. NY Giants
This game is not the tricky prospect it once was. Although the New York Giants won’t be rolling over by any stretch of the imagination under Brian Daboll’s leadership.
After a promising start to the campaign, things have tailed off dramatically for the Giants, who could end the Daniel Jones experiment this offseason based on his erratic production in recent weeks. With Saquon Barkley’s contract status also up in the air, big changes could be coming in New York for the second-straight preparation period.
That won’t be of any concern to the Vikings, who’ll be looking to send fans home with some festive cheer during their final regular-season game. But it’s highly likely Kevin O’Connell’s men will get home-field advantage for at least one playoff contest unless something drastic occurs down the stretch.
O’Connell will look to ensure complacency doesn’t become an issue if the Vikings do clinch the NFC North in Week 15. And if they aren’t up for the challenge, Daboll could make them pay after leaving a decent impression over his first season at the helm.
Prediction: Win (12-3)
Had the Vikings played New York a few weeks ago, the prediction might be different. But the Giants are currently in freefall and this is something Minnesota can take advantage of.
