Predicting the Vikings final 4 games in 2022 after a dismal Lions loss
By Dean Jones
Week 17
Minnesota Vikings at Green Bay Packers
No matter what time of year or where these two franchises stand record-wise, the Vikings and Green Bay Packers always want to get one over on each other. Week 17 will be no different.
The Packers aren’t going to make the playoffs, and with the Vikings already locking up the division by this point, there is little to play for other than pride. Something that both sets of fans have in abundance regarding their teams and what’s become a physical, long-running rivalry.
Going on the road and winning in Green Bay would still be a major statement, no matter how bad things have gone for quarterback Aaron Rodgers this season. And the Packers will also fancy their chances, given how much success they’ve attained over the Vikings at Lambeau Field.
Minnesota’s struggles defending the pass could mean another big game for 2022 second-round selection Christian Watson if things don’t improve. This will also be an inhospitable environment with freezing temperatures making things difficult at this time of year.
Prediction: Loss (12-4)
While the Vikings have a better chance of emerging victorious than in years recently passed, this is also an opportunity for Green Bay to prove their lack of positive results in 2022 is merely a blip rather than a sign of things to come long-term. Something that could give them the motivation to derail Minnesota’s momentum ahead of the postseason.
